3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
POLYBAC® #1257-58 Polymer Anchoring System is a 100% solids, two component, structural epoxy designed for use in anchoring threaded rod, bolts, reinforcing bars and smooth dowels in solid concrete. POLYBAC® #1257-58 is moisture insensitive and bonds to damp or dry surfaces.

POLYBAC® #1257-58 is a thixotropic, amine based adhesive that exhibits excellent adhesion to concrete, as well as, fast setting characteristics. It can be used vertically, horizontally or with screen tubes for anchoring in hollow masonry walls.

POLYBAC® #1257-58 is available in bulk containers or cartridges. The bulk adhesive can be dispensed with an air-powered machine while the cartridges can be dispensed with a pneumatic or manually operated gun. Cartridge sizes available are 22oz, 11oz. and 5oz.

4. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Surface should be prepared by using conventional cleaning methods such as acid etching, disc grinding, sand blasting or mechanical abrasion. The surface should be free of loose materials, paints, sealants or oils. Use #20 solvent to remove oils and dirt.
  2. Cut static mixer tip to second notch making sure the opening is obstruction free. Remove cap and plugs from cartridge.
  3. Place static mixer over cartridge and tighten nut. Load into dispensing gun of choice.
  4. Dispense and discard a bead of material until color is uniform before use.
  5. Drill hole to correct diameter and depth. (At least 9 times diameter of rod.)
  6. Clean hole with nylon brush and blow or flush dust out of hole.
  7. Dispense epoxy into hole, filling from the bottom to avoid air pockets.
  8. Insert anchor slowly, turning anchor during the insertion.
  9. Heat hole.with torch if temperatures are below 32°F. Maintain epoxy above 50°F for maximum adhesion to concrete and easy dispensing.
