4. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Sandblast or scarify surface to eliminate all surface scale, rust and unclean matter. Wipe surface with a clean cloth soaked with POLYBAC #20 Solvent. if possible, warm the substrate to 120° F.
- If sandblasting is not available, wire brush, disc grinder or a coarse sandpaper may be used. Clean with a soil free cloth, soaked with #20 Solvent.
- The substrate must be free from all contamination such as oil, grease, rust, mill scale, water, release agents or soil. Mix 1 part A (Resin) to 1 part B (Hardener) on a separate board until uniform in color.
- Apply a thin layer of POLYBAC #315 AR and rub into the surface, then proceed to build up to desired thickness. Layers should not exceed 30 mils at one time to insure proper cure.
- The cure can be accelerated by waving a torch over the surface for about thirty minutes or heat Part A (Resin) to 100° F before mixing. This process will accelerate the cure but also shorten the working life. Material is sensitive to varying temperatures.
- Do not apply below 50° F without heating the material and substrate to temperatures above 80° F. Clean tools with #20 Solvent and clean skin or clothes with soapy water. Do not apply to wet or damp substrates. May affect adhesion of coating.
